Stuck
NOTE It apears that use of the stuck command has been restricted in Build 122. Whether or not it has entirely disappeared, or is just restricted, is still unclear.
There is a little known command that can be useful in several circumstances. Typing /stuck will immediately cause you to respawn in the graveyard in Townston.
Now, its first usage is just as it says, when you get STUCK someplace. If you have forgotten to stock up on Waypoint Scrolls you may find yourself in the middle of a dungeon with no way back to Town. Typing /stuck is your way out.
Another usage is possible if you find yourself surrounded by too many monsters to possibly handle. You can type /stuck and be out of there!
You can, of course, use it if you just get tired, or finish a level, and just want to go away. /stuck takes you back to Town.
However, it can also be very useful in the management of Waypoints. As of Build 110 you have three Waypoints when you enter the obelisk. They are
- The last Waypoint Scroll you used
- The last Waypoint Compass you activated
- The last gate you passed through
One useful way of arranging things is like this:
- Use a Waypoint scroll for any temporary transitions. Going back to town to buy and sell is one example.
- Use a Waypoint compass for marking a particular level or place to return to. The last Boss you fought is a good example, if you think you might want to go back to farm.
- Be careful about going through gates if you have one you want to keep and return to. If you go off with a group and pass through other gates you can lose the one you are working.
Now if you have all three of those slots filled, and encounter a new area such as a sub-dungeon you want to mark for later, you have to be careful. Here is one way to do it: Go through the gate to the sub-level dungeon; Use your waypoint scroll; Go back through the gate, which re-established your entry to the level you were on. But now, if you use another waypoint scroll to get back to Townston, you have lost the one you wanted to use. The solution is /stuck. It gives you a free ride, at only a small price to your pride at re-appearing in the graveyard.
Hmmm, is that sort of complicated in explanation?? But it works very well in practice and essentially gives you one more Waypoint you can save.
