This is how The Townstons works now. The old MediaWiki codes, Wikipedia cheat sheets, and 2008 image galleries do not apply.

Accounts

Sign up with a username, email, and password. Confirm the email. Then you can edit. No confirmed email, no edits.

Log in and Log out are in the left menu.

Editing a page

On an article, use Edit at the top. Write in Markdown. Save sends you back to the page.

Anybody confirmed can edit most pages. Other people can edit your stuff too. That is a wiki. Mods may yank junk.

The Main Page is locked. Only admins touch that.

New pages

Logged in and confirmed: New page in the left menu. Type a title. That opens the editor.

Markdown and templates

Headings, lists, and links are normal Markdown. A link looks like [FAQ](/wiki/FAQ).

Special bits the editor understands:

• {{thumb|src=/images/x.jpg|caption=|align=right}}
• {{infobox|title=|image=|piece=Helm|class=Fighter}}

Do not paste [[Category:...]] in the body. Categories are the box at the bottom of the editor, one name per line.

Images

In the editor, use Add image. The picture shows a "to be approved" placeholder until an admin approves it. The upload stays on the edit page. It does not kick you out.

History

Every page has History. That is the old versions. Admins can Diff and Revert.

What to write

Write like a player. Items, quests, dungeons, builds, monsters. Fix what is wrong. Add what is missing. No junk, no ads.
