There are two types of whiskers. The normal adult types and the smaller but ferocious young of the rat-like whiskers, known as Brood or Broodling. Both are essentially the same type of creatures, cute but in tasmanian devil sort of way.
Tip: Broodlings are easy for a mage with an AoE spell. They can be harder for fighters or rangers. A fighter is wise to acquire Cleave early and use it to deal with them. A Ranger will have to pick them off in succession, but at least does not have to run after them.

Uniques
- The Particularly Rude Broodling is a larger and stronger Whisker Broodling who is found on Level 1 of Algernon. Killing him opens the door to Sir Kent the Artisan who is a quest-giver. Sometimes the Particularly Rude Broodling is near the door but sometimes it is not.
- Dew Valley Rattle Tooth is a Champion whose lair is located off level 3 of Dew Valley.
Specials
- Seer Brood - Are Flame Brood spawned in groups by Vergrim in the Lair of Vergrim. They are slightly faster and stronger then other whiskers and when near death, they perform a self-destruct attack causing Fire Damage that can knock you down for 3 to 5 seconds.
- Vergrim's Brood are lesser versions of the Seer Brood. One of them will suddenly appear among a group of Flame Brood in the levels of Vergrim's Vexation, and explode when near death, but with much less damage than Seer Brood.
- Whisker Prospectors and Whisker Flingers are found in the mines of Algernon.
