Terminate Carnage's Contract

In-game text

Journal text, offer, and turn-in as they appeared in game.

Journal: Go to Karnage's Lot off of the 5th level of Frump's Misfortune to kill Colonel Carnage and 20 Ice Fade Banshees. Return to Nielsen in Frump's Interdungeonal Resort on completion.

Offer:

We originally hired Kolonel Karnage to do a show based on modern dungeon warfare. Kolonel Karnage was supposed to show the viewers how to farm for supplies, craft items, and assemble weapons and armor. We even agreed to let him bring in a whole crew of Ice Fade Banshees to speed up his farming. Kolonel Karnage had something else in mind.

First Kolonel Karnage legally changed his name to Colonel Carnage. We all know that phonetically spelling with K's for C's is much catchier. This hurt our bottom line because we had already spent thousands of King's Coins in marketing research into the illicit responses of letters. Then the Colonel pointed out that the contract specifically stated that we were not allowed to place him in any situations where he may break a bone or have to stand for long periods of time.

In order to do our best to honor the contract we had to change the show's format. The show ended up being one in which Colonel Carnage would respond to scrolls written by fans that were interested in weaponry and armory. The show's name was changed from The Dungeonwright's Shop to Scroll Call and it ended up having a big following from all the old geriatric Dungeon Runners. You know; those who have traversed their way through places like Ragnarok, Hades, Larn, PMoria, Oz, Funkytown, etc. Our initial pessimism of the show's future wore off after the first year's ratings.

Today and seven seasons later it's a different story. Many of the fans were old adventurers that have since moved on with their lives, settled down, had children, became merchants, or have mysteriously become trapped inside of strange artifacts known as cubes. If you do the math, no fans plus no ratings equal no money. No money equals no contract. We need for you to find Colonel Carnage in Karnage's Lot and let him know the contract won't be renewed. While you are down there, let Colonel Carnage's entourage of Ice Fade Banshee know that they no longer have a free ride and that they need to beat it. Once you've delivered the bad news, head back to Frump's Interdungeonal Resort and let Nielsen know.
