Stat Choices

From Townstons

There are many ways to distribute stats. This guide is an aim to go over some of those ways and the cons and pros of them.

5 Strength a level: This will make for a good fighter. The bonus to defense from all the strength and the Endurance armor you will need to wear to keep up your endurance will give you a high Defense. This stat distribution will take advantage of the slower high defense armor. It well be hard to be anything but a fighter with this. Well also need to wear some agility to hit things.

2 Strength / 3 Endurance a level: This will most likely have lower defense but you will move slightly faster , since the armor you need will have a lower defense but be mostly strength with maybe a little agility.

5 Agility a level: Will require Endurance Items to keep up your hit points. Though with all the agility you have you will do a lot of damage.

2 Agility / 3 Endurance: Requires little to no endurance items to support it. You can concentrate on getting nothing but agility on your armor with this. Also allows you to be a fighter when you want to. Just throw on some str gear and the right skill and you will be set.

5 Endurance: The most and least flexible of the stat distributions. With the right gear you can easily switch from Fighter to Ranger to Mage at any time. With all that Endurance though you are losing out on more damage.

4 Endurance / 1 Intelligence a level: This is balanced to give you a enough Mana to use your skills. Still gives you a little more life then you need. With this build you will do alright as either a fighter , ranger , or mage.

5 Intelligence a level: With the right skills and some endurance equipment until you get those skills this is a very high damage build. Can't be much other than a mage or hybrid with this stat assignment though.

2 Intelligence / 3 Endurance a level: Trading off some of you damage potential you get that little bit of extra life that will help you in the early game and might just keep you alive a second longer in the late game. Also possible to equip a bow and use ranger skills with this build and a little agility to good affect.

1 Agility / 3 Endurance / 1 Intelligence: This is highly flexible giving you just enough agility , endurance and intelligence to be useful. Allowing for the character to be equiped with the stat gear of choice.

Many think of the stat choices as what class do I wish to train in and place all there points , from leveling , towards making that class shine. While this is a perfectly normal RPG response , it is not the only possibility with Dungeon Runners. One can also think of the stat choices when they level up as "How many different builds or classes will I be able to run with these choices".

Placing stat points in your attributes at level up for the purpose of only one class is a rather easy approach. If you are new to the game or wish to take a more laid back approach it is also the best choice.

Placing stat points in your attributes at level up for the purpose of multiple build or class choices is a difficult approach. This is only suited for someone who knows the game and or wishes to put a lot of thinking into and more active approach to their game playing. All your money that isn't spent on potions will go towards skills. The skill choices one makes is initially easy. As one can afford every skill in the game. This though is not so at later levels (without constant insane runs and group help). So careful planning must be made towards which skills you actually like and want and which ones you will level later. It is best , with multiple builds in mind , to focus on the one build you really love and prepare to use the other builds by collecting equipment for them and buying skills for them once the main build skill are out of the way.

  • Will give now an example of one character. My "Main" character is prepared to take on four or so different builds. The main build it is currently focusing on is Ranger , secondary is Fighter , with Mage and Fighter Mage taking last place. I originally had all points in Endurance and this worked rather well. Then about level seventy-one I "Respec" to four endurance and 1 intelligence a level. I had three pages of my bank set aside for the different kinds of equipment I would be using. One is enough but fills quickly sometimes. Because of the choices I had made in stats at level up it was needed that I had certain equipment for each build. All Strength armor for fighter , all agility armor for my Ranger and all intelligence armor for the other two. The jewelry is where the build got the extra stuff it needed. If it needed agility then it got agility , if it needed more intelligence it would get some intelligence jewelry.
